Nice to meet you!

Nice to meet you!
My name is Amanda but I go by just Manda.
I'm a digital designer. I have a love for visuals and enjoy a good problem to solve. I'm always eager to learn more and try something new.

About Me
Who am I?
Hey there, I'm Amanda (but go by Manda), a designer who's all about thinking outside the box. I'm all about colour, but I can keep it classy too. When I'm not designing, you may find me improving my Japanese— I can read, write, and speak it, but only at base level. I also like to play online, a good book, or a board game. This year I'm looking to level up my skills in Blender and Framer. I just love learning and getting lost in my work.
What's my background?
I studied Web Design & Development at the University of Abertay, Dundee graduating with a BSc Hons Degree. After doing a few freelance projects while working part-time in retail I had to put my career in design on pause due to my children. Fast forward to 2022 and I realised my love for design was still very much there. I decided to brush up on my skills with a credited course in UX design. This brings us to where I am today; designing daily and hoping to build my career in the big design world.
What can I do?
I have a base knowledge of code which makes it easier to marry design with the development side of things. This paired with my design knowledge brings a balanced view of design. When it comes to UI design, my go-to tool is Figma. I'm no stranger to Photoshop and Illustrator, and I've dabbled with XD but I am always open to learning new software. As a people person, I thrive on collaboration and connecting with others. I love to listen and work out problems. Design isn't just a job for me — I feel it comes relatively naturally. With a keen eye for detail and a knack for colour theory, I'm constantly pushing myself to reach exciting new outcomes. I've recently been diving into Framer and exploring Blender in early 2024 in the hopes of having another skill under my design belt. I'm all about expanding my skill set and staying ahead of the curve.
